Save me
From all that’s lodged in my throat
From my ash filled lungs
Hold them as they move out of sync
My heart can not catch up
The words can not flow through
My thoughts forgotten
My memories trapped
On a forced loop in someone else’s tomorrow
We’ve been long distance for a while
Separated between timelines
I vowed to forget
But remember to remember
Did I forget to forget ?
Have I been forgotten by the me that forgot?
I’m always just out of reach
But that doesn’t mean I don’t move with outstretched limbs and breath for the person I was and who I’ll be
It doesn’t mean I don’t pause on hope of answers
That I don’t sweep up and linger on the knowledge that trickles around my feet
Staring at the crumbs like puzzle pieces
How is the picture still a blur?
How many times can I reform the pieces?
In each piece I see a mirror
In each piece I see myself
The me I forgot to forget
But remembered to remember
The me that forgot me
How can you know my essence?
Understand more than god has ever allowed me
Know my future
Know the loop that was and is and that hasn’t begun
The loop that’s always beginning and never ending
That’s always in the middle of a lesson
Even when the lesson has lessoned until it can’t lesson any more
How can you know?
And leave me to scrap up the faith that is seeping out of me
No longer overflowing
Diluted
And grey
My faith has no faith of being replenished
How can you know that I’m on the ledge
And ask me to save myself?
Save me
You have given passages and plays
Articles and books
Videos and people
Connections and hope
Tarot cards and crystals
Lessons upon lessons
Just save me
If I’m an ingrate so it is
I’m buckled on my knees
My eyes empty
With my soul dislocated
My heart bruised
An ingrate that’s begging to be saved
If you remember the memory that has never been with me
That as a infant I chased as it fluttered amongst butterfly’s
If you remember to remember
And I still forgot to forget
Could you make me forget the memory I’ve been chasing
Could you save me?
