सहारा

धन्यवाद !

खुशी से सराबोर लता ने मुस्कुराते हुए दोनों हाथ जोड़कर प्राचीन वृक्ष से कहा, "आपने सहारा दिया। आपकी छाल (bark) का सहारा मिला तो जीवन बचा। इस दुनिया को देख पाई ! नीचे पड़ी थी उगने के बाद । डर लगता था कि अभी किसी ने कुचला, अभी कोई मेरे तन की जड़ों को मिट्टी से अलग कर देगा और मैं निर्बल - कोमल लता (Creeper) मैं उसी पल एक गहरी साँस या किसी सिसकी के साथ दम तोड़ दूँगी।"

किसको कहा ....?

मुझे ....?

आश्चर्य से भरे प्राचीन वृक्ष ने चौंक कर कहा, "ओह ! यकीन नहीं होता कि मैं किसी का सहारा अब भी बन सकता हूँ। तुम तो कितनी सुंदर हो लता ... मेरी बच्ची ! तुम्हारा हल्का हरा रंग, कोमल पत्तियाँ .... दुःख तुम्हें कैसे छूकर जा सकता था? दुखी तो मुझे होना चाहिए। देखो न, किसी के काम नहीं आता अब। सूख गया हूँ। वर्षों से बुढ़ापा ओढ़े खड़ा हूँ। अब पत्ते, पुष्प, फल सब गँवा बैठा हूँ। कोई मेरी टहनियों पर वर्षों से झूला नहीं डालता न ही छाया में विश्राम करने आता है, बल्कि दूर भागते हैं कि मेरा जर्जर शरीर कहीं उन्हीं पर न गिर जाए। डरते हैं कि मैं जाने कब धराशाही हो जाऊँ।"

"मैं तो आपसे लिपटी हूँ और दुनिया को देख रही हूँ। सचमुच आपका दिल से धन्यवाद।" उल्लसित स्वर में लता बोली," ओह ! आप नहीं जानते आपने मुझे जीवन दिया है, सच...।"

"ओह ! तुम नहीं जानती, तुम्हारी बातों ने मुझ बूढ़े वृक्ष में प्राण डाल दिए हैं। मुझमें नई चेतना जगा दी है। तुम्हारा धन्यवाद !” बूढ़ा वृक्ष विनम्रता से झुक गया।

सचमुच हम अपने छोटे-से जीवन में जीवन जीने के लिए कब एक-दूसरे का सहारा बन जाते हैं पता ही नहीं चलता। प्रत्येक, हर एक अवस्था में आवश्यक है अतः निराशा को पास नहीं फटकने देना चाहिए।
