Run Bella , run, they said.

They shall catch you and cage you…

You will not be allowed to fly, they said…

They’ll tear your wings away, they said.

Run Bella, run they said…

You’re yet a little girl, yet to grow.

Yet to see life to the fullest, they said.

Yet to welcome Freedom, capture Fame.

Yet to find true love they said.

Run Bella, run they said…

Tall, mighty men looming above you

Their intentions were never good, they said.

Lust-filled eyes, power hungry fingers

Which can tear you apart, they said.

Run Bella, run they said…

We hear news of far and wide,

Of little girls disappearing they said.

They shall rip off your little bow,

Not leave a rag on your skin, they said.

Run Bella, run they said.

Your mother didn’t survive it.

She did rebel greatly, they said.

They were not merciful, they wanted pleasure,

That is all such men want, they said.

Run Bella, run they said.

They lure you into a trap with love,

Only to exploit you, they said.

They don’t want your money…

All they want is your dignity, they said.

Run Bella, run they said.

Don’t let them get to you…

Run as far away as possible, they said.

Build a world of your own, my love.

Spread your wings and fly, they said.

Run, Bella, run they said…
