Rugger

Rapidly running across the field

Without cover, without a shield

Quick touches are involved in this sport

Never thought I’d play a game of this sort

Crash. Bang. Heavy collision

Blurred is my vision

Blue

Blue

Blue

The colour stains my eye

At least I scored a nice try.

Scoring a try is the aim of the game

Be careful of a knock-on because that’s not the same

Passing backwards, I could do that all day

This sport means a lot to me I must say

Not just because of the tries but because of the people I’ve met along the way.
