River of Hope
By Mohit Kumar
Walking by the river of hope pelting stones in the horrid waters.
I face my demons and I face myself, I race my heart to the sunken ship.
Sailors sailed through the ocean of dead,
Fought the gods and the devil abreast,
They left their land to meet their fate,
In their hearts, they carried a world of hate.
With waves and lightning, they were struck,
Wrath of gods and the devil fiddling with their luck,
They shirked the anger into the river of hope,
But little did they know, everything’s bound to rope.
Fled the goods to meet the goddess,
Who will rinse their hearts of this mess?
The waters were calm and the berries, ripe,
They could not notice the love, so were they naïve.
The lady healed them of their wounds and hate,
They bowed to the gods and accepted their fate,
For courage and questioning, the sailors were embraced by all,
And so led the story of the sailors, who were bravest of them all.
