Unborn me my mother

For the world is too heavy.

I fail to carry the burden of life

Happiness with me is at a strife

Sadness embraces me with open arms

But I can no more stay enticed by her charms.

Unwarm me my mother

For the way is too cold.

I fail to find the love you showered

To face my life, it gave me power

The hatred and selfishness stare at my face

To be able to smile is a saving grace.

Unlearn me my mother

For the word is too wise.

I cannot comprehend what the people think

They are smart and quick as an eye’s blink

My mind’s knowledge stands fallen behind

Intellectuals laugh at me; they are not kind.

Unteach me my mother

For the world is too learned.

My bag full of knowledge that you taught

Has soured and smells like tomatoes rot

Your teachings will not suffice

To bring a change in thinking of people wise.

Unlove me my mother

For the world is full of hatred.

People around me are too self centred

My selfless love has failed to tender

The hardened hearts and selfish minds

I can no more stay with them in a bind.

Ungrow me my mother

For the world is very old.

My childlike streak has been crushed upon

The dusk has come without a dawn

I am asked to age and grow mature

With my joyous playfulness none is allured.

Unsecure me my mother

For the world is very dangerous.

The safety that your arms enveloped

Has not let me into a devil develop

People want me to become armed

Enough your love and security has been harmed.

Unmarry me my mother

For the world is too feeling less.

I can no longer give joy to the man I wed

He no more desires me in his bed

I cook, clean, iron and take care of his needs

That can be replaced by a maid of any creed

I no more can keep happy his sister

In whose eyes I soar like a blister

No more do I have anything to give

My heart is not small, but I too want to live

His mother and father I cannot please

It stifles me, gone out is the ease

My coffers are now empty, nothing is left

They’ve taken it all, I’m left bereft.

Unlive me my mother

For the world is too deadly.

It has become very difficult to breathe

I’m woven, it seems, into a wreath

Misery all around, I want to escape

I die everyday, my mouth agape!
