Repent
By Disha Mitra
The scars of fear,
Still dwells inside of her,
The screams she heard,
Are echoing around her,
Instead of looking up to you,
Repent is what she has for you.
Her mother cries herself to sleep,
Trying to resist the pain,
The life she sacrificed for them,
Is a price that none should pay,
Unconditional love that she gives,
The joy she finds in their happiness, The love that should've bounded all, Repent is what she has for you.
Each day was a year to her,
Locked in cage with wings,
Waiting for the day to fly,
Run away to a place unknown,
Where all she sees, is her mother smile, Long and healthy be her life,
But the time which has foregone,
Repent is what she has for you.
The childhood she lost,
The reluctance she has,
Hiding behind her smiles,
The shadows being her comfort,
Standing at the tip of the edge,
Forcing that concern in her face,
But, repent is what she has for you.
The memories burnt in her head,
Still caged in her shell,
Fighting the numbness,
Envying the life that's lost,
And still, repent is what she has for
