Remembrance

is there sympathy left to spare?

how could there be?

when all i ever was is unseen

i knelt out of need but all You did was listen to

my pleas

if You could, you’d pay to watch me b

d

i watch over you reading with trembling hands- where is my owed sympathy?

my flesh followed long after my spirit died. still i will apologise

i am sorry

imagine my black and blue knees, scars on my thighs, ribs poking through and bags under my eyes

don’t just look

study them

is this enough now?

after experiencing it too?

is this finally enough for you?

if the metallic stench nauseates you, if my so-called selfishness infuriates you-

Oh, you feel you could have done more you should have

you. could. have.

above all

protect this letter

swallow your tears, do not cause the ink to fade

remember My red-soaked memory

and cry and sob and scream

then go ahead

give yourself the sympathy you never gave Me
