Regret

Regret. Simple word with a strong and bitter after taste.

People say one should live their lives to the fullest, should do whatever they want to, should harness enough courage to take a step towards your dreams, so that you won’t have any regrets when you’re about 70.

However, that’s easier said than done.

I wish I could have been brave enough to do whatever I wanted; I wish I was strong enough to take a step forward. I wish I had no regrets at all, but alas! I have many.

Too many for my liking.

My biggest regret is something some can find trivial, others might find stupid, but for me it was life changing. That one decision defined the way my life has turned out till now.

I regret taking the course I took back in senior secondary and then in college, I regret not having enough courage to face the demon commonly known as physics, I regret not putting my foot down and taking the subject dealing with the functioning of the courts and the parliament rather than the subject dealing with the thoughts of the brain.

Those are my biggest regrets till now among many, and now I’m enduring it.

Once decisions have been taken, they can’t be amended if you carry them out.

They become a pathway which leads to your future crossroads.

Although I’m enduring this path, I wish I could go back and remind myself to put myself first,

But since I can’t go back now, I have to make the most of it, so that I don’t end up regret regretting all the time.
