Redemption

I wake up and the grey sky above greets me.
Embezzled of all wants and needs,
I stand there, alone;
Nowhere to go, in an one man's island,
I try to call out-
But there's nobody to stick a hand out.
Enraged, I am pinned down immediately,
By the black torrential rain;
I try to search for a golden ray,
For days I meet only the black shadow of a bad fate.
Wherever my eyes go, I witness destruction,
Mocking me and chasing,
I turn pale, but run nevertheless.
I try thinking about the time when I had it all,
Which now seems a distant memory,
What does it matter? I have lost it all;
A deadly fog has engulfed it all,
I hit the ground, shuddering,
And begin to pray.
Hope is the only flickering light I can see,
I look and yearn for it,
It doesn't hear my cry,
But I try, and put up a brave fight.
The darkness is more dark than ever,
But hope sparkles in the heart, more than ever.
And then God listened.
The east saw dawn again, and the breeze blew soft,
Green fought the ravage, and raised its head,
A new day awaited us.
But this time, the heart yearns redemption.
Oh Mother Nature! Is forgiveness too large a price to ask?
It's when you lose it all at once,
We learn the value of the least.
As I stood there, on that new land,
Weaving hopes and dreams of a better tomorrow,
I know now the oneness,
I know the ties we share with nature.
If breach finds its way, we can lose it all,
But together, with the blue sky and the greeneries,
We can have our own heaven here,
The ripple of the river promises.
