Red Means I Love You
By Juno Felecia M
She seems to twirl
And my eyes seamlessly follow her.
She was humming a tune
Her voice fluttered like the wings of a hummingbird,
Sweet as unfiltered cane.
My heart lurched and I believe
It was destiny,
The universe has brought us together
And fate wove the moment for us to fall
Serendipity:
I believe it was love at first sight.
Oh! What a wonderful feeling.
That was all I could think when I saw him.
My breathing fluttered
As I became aware of his eyes on me
Serendipity:
We were destined to meet.
She smiled,
Shy and slow.
Through her lashes, her eyes beaconed me toward her.
I had no control
My legs seemed to float towards her
There was no way fairytales were false
For in front of me was the reason for us to believe in gods.
He seemed enchanted
Mystified.
I wanted so much more.
Oh! So more.
I whispered to him if he wanted to be away
From the prying eyes and unsubtle gaze
He followed me through the corridor
To my room
I have no words
Oh heavens!
I can hear the angels sing.
She smiled and locked the door,
My heart lurched
And I wondered,
Why this ethereal being graced me with mercy
And picked me.
Why me?
He seemed fazed.
And slowly wondered:
Why him.
He questioned me in awe
And I told him softly
“It is what is inside that counts.”
She believed in the unsullied beauty
She said my eyes radiated my unmarred soul
That she sees
How untainted and pure I was.
And she could not help
But bestow me with her adoration.
She turned around humming;
An unknown tune.
A line I admire the most
One that has always made me seek a companion
Was the lyric of my most beloved song.
And seeing this naive soul
I could not help
But hum it in glee
As I turned around to pull the blinds down
And lock the door.
She seems to be moving methodically
Her movements were precise and certain
I could not help
But see how graceful her entire being was
How wonderful her curves moved
I was a mortal that had been graced with Eden.
I can feel him watch me
And I know the moment,
When he looks down
To fathom his luck
Probably;
And that is when I strike
A precise cut to his throat
And his blood sings onto my flesh
Covering me,
Adoring me
He softly thuds onto the floor.
And I slowly sing
As I see the lights die in his eyes
“It is what is inside that counts.”
