Raw Destruction

One step forward,

two steps back,

laces tied to one another,

while I trip over my words,

watch the destruction I've caused

I'm strawberries and sweet poetry one morning,

warts and stale milk the next,

an epitome of contradictions,

a myriad of chaotic atoms never falling into place

It doesn't get better, my love

the sun sets and the moon rises

the universe goes on and dusk turns into dawn,

while I stay huddled within this darkness I've created
