I am always astonished by how easy it is for some people to share themselves, the complete facility

with which one can lay bare their soul. Secret feelings of inadequacy, frustration, resentment,

infatuation, and love. For some people crossing these barriers is no harder admitting these

emotions to themselves. As thought if certain things are not confessed to, then they're not real,

thereby making these confessions not just simple, but necessary.

I wonder sometimes whether this is a natural human trait, something one is born with; the need

to share, and the compulsion to keep everything locked inside is the result of years of harsh

experiences and unbelievable betrayals. And if this is true then is it not possible that life is not so

much a period of learning, but a process of forgetting?
