Rains
By Sanjana Sham
As I sat staring at the violent skies,
I wondered if everything had to end in cries.
To see the sky blush shyly with the sun’s depart,
And to hear the echoing of the metal that rusted mine heart.
To feel the relief that blew with the storm,
And to taste the bitterness had become the day’s norm.
Was I Meant to see the rain as a source of pain ?
Oh! what a beautiful day to have spent it all in vain.
The lone gliding bird still chose to fly,
Rather than wondering how he got so high.
When you ask him why he chose to soar so high,
“Trade your mind to illuminate your soul” was his reply.
Mistake not the flashing lights of blue,
For a thunder means that the rain is still due.
