Rain, Rainbow And Him

Sitting in the corner,

He watched the rain falling.

His dejected heart tried to unwind,

While his head was bursting with all the confused calling.

Conforming to the bigotry of the society,

He suppressed his innate desires.

Over the years, kept lying to himself

With the damned societal thinking, he tried to extinguish the beautiful fire.

What he was, he wondered

And where were his interests at.

He had forgotten, due to years of passive oppression

They could taret him and flush him away like a diseased rat.

He slowly came closer to the window

And rested his head on the window sill.

The rain drops drenched him wet,

Regardless of this, he kept drowning in emotions as he stayed still.

He raised his head to look into the oblivion,

A strong breeze blew right into his face.

He felt some freshness of acceptance and strength

And made up his mind to accept himself with grace.

So many questions popped up in his mind

He decided to move ahead.

He was tired of lying to himself and hiding who he really was.

This was the path he did not want to trade.

Talking to himself,

He lost the sense of his surroundings.

As he came back to his senses,

He felt confident, a feeling that was astounding.

All the while he was lost in his thoughts,

The dark clouds and the rain had faded away.

The trees were dancing as the wind blew,

Watching that, he broke off from all the shackles to live his life in his own way.

He ran to the rooftop,

He smiled as he saw the rainbow.

He closed his eyes and accepted his sexuality, his love for men and women alike,

He felt like fluid, making his own way, just like the rivers flow.
