Race To The Finish

A new beginning, they said, new life, new ways

But is this really how novelty should feel?

Constantly hustling to get to the end of the days

Trying to fit the timeline seems like the only deal

After the days stress going back to the screen for solace

A robot more than it all, repeating the cycle each day

Keeping at it cause life at its best is nothing but a race

But have we ever questioned how long this monotony will stay?

Is it really worth living the years this way?

The energy that could be channelled to do much more

Lost in trying to figure out how to survive each day

Not exploring the vastness, cause you fear losing sight of the shore

Get out and explore, sure not easy as it sounds

But how long can you handle the monotony?

Breakthrough the routine and look around

You’ll be amazed and pleased, or leave you uncanny

Life is nothing but the little moments that make you feel alive

Don’t trade it for anything else, not money nor fame

Treasure those little glimpses, what else does it mean to survive?

Life maybe a race but never treat it like a game
