രാത്രി

രാത്രിയുടെ നിശബ്ദതയിൽ,

തന്നെ തലോടി കടന്നുപോവുന്ന,

ഇളം കാറ്റിൽ ലയിച്ച് അവൾ തന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ഇറുക്കിയടച്ചു;

അവയിൽ നിന്നുതിരുന്ന ചുടുനീരിനെയും,

ചുട്ടുപൊള്ളുന്ന തന്റെ മനസ്സിനെയും തണുപ്പിക്കാൻ

രാത്രിയുടെ തണുത്ത കരങ്ങൾക്കാകും എന്നാശിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്......

RAATHRI

Raathriyude nishabdathayil,

Thanne thalodi kadannupovunna,

Ilam kaatil layichu aval thante kannukal irukiyadachu;

Avayil ninnuthirunna chuduneerineyum,

Chuttupollunna thante manassineyum thanuppikkan

Raathriyude thanutha karangalkkakum ennashichukondu……..

NIGHT

In the silence of night,

Losing herself in the touch of the gentle breeze caressing her,

She closed her eyes tightly;

Hoping against hopes,

That the hot tears pouring from her eyes,

And an aching heart of hers which is burning hot,

Can be cooled down by the cold hands of night…..
