“Quite Victories"

Nobody teaches us how to dream small.

They hand us the sky.

Before we learn how to walk,

Place galaxies in our palms.

and call it “potential.”

They say,

Reach for the stars,

as if gravity

is just a suggestion,

as if falling

has no sound.

Nobody sits us down.

and whispers

"Maybe it’s okay.

to want a quiet life,

to build something soft,

to survive without spectacle.”

No.

We are raised

on the mythology of magnitude.

Be great.

Be louder.

Be more.

Be unforgettable.

And if you’re not

Then what are you?

We swallow these words.

like commandments,

like they were carved

into the bones of ambition.

We grow addicted.

to the horizon.

Always chasing

what is just beyond reach,

as if fulfillment

is allergic to presence.

But nobody teaches us.

How to dream small.

How to find poetry

in paying rent on time,

in watering plants

that don’t clap back.

Nobody tells us

that peace

is not a downgrade.

That choosing less noise

is not a failure.

That's a life

without an audience

can still be

a masterpiece.

We are taught to measure worth.

in volume

followers,

figures,

footprints in history.

But what about

the quiet victories?

The mornings

You choose yourself.

Without an announcement.

The nights

You survive your own thoughts.

Without applause.

The invisible resilience

that never trends.

Nobody teaches us

how to dream small,

because small

has been mislabeled

as insignificant.

But tell me.

What is small?

About healing?

What is small?

about choosing joy

in a world addicted to chaos?

What is small?

about building something

that lasts

even if no one tweets about it?

We have been confused.

scale

with meaning.

Confused attention

with impact.

Confused by being seen

with being whole.

Maybe dreaming small

is not shrinking

Maybe it’s refining.

Maybe it’s learning.

to hold your life

like a fragile song,

Not a performance.

Maybe it’s understanding.

that not everything

needs to echo

To be real.

Because even the sun

for all its fire

rises quietly.

Even love,

in its deepest form,

does not announce itself

with fireworks.

It arrives.

like breath,

like warmth,

like something steady

You didn’t know.

you needed.

Nobody teaches us

How to dream small.

So, we burn ourselves.

trying to be constellations,

forgetting

that even a single light

can guide someone home.

So, here’s what I’m learning.

to want less noise,

more meaning.

Less validation,

more truth.

Less pressure

to be everything

and more permission

to simply be.

To build a life

that doesn’t need

a headline.

To write stories

that don’t beg

for applause.

To exist

without turning existence

into a performance.

Maybe dreaming small

is the rebellion.

Maybe it’s a quiet revolution.

No one profits from it.

Maybe it’s courage.

to say

This is enough.

I am enough.

And that

that is not small

at all.
