Love is the attraction

The repulsion

To your addiction

And benediction

Love told me a story

Of a young lonely man

Eagerly seeking him

The young man found him in a man

Yet they claimed it wasn’t love

They said look again

He searched farther and beyond

Till the spring trees withered

Till the winter birds froze

Yet he found the same love

So I asked love, “why did they judge”

“it is the nature of hate”

But I recall love said

“hate is my best friend”

So I wonder

If I am loved does that mean I hate

And oh since I knew

That love is hate

I never searched for him

For he brings his companion

How enticing he is

Yet how brutal he can be

So till I die

I am yet to fulfill my quest
