Queen and War

Crossing these boundaries

In the middle of a war.

Thought I am a queen

Had my people defending me.

Wars tear us apart,

And so tore my sheen, bare.

My ugly face,

Now everyone can see it.

Insecure to the core.

My exterior an empty shell.

Lies I fed myself,

Emerging to the surface.

Skin and bones glowing.

Dark and murky showing.

I want to break down,

Cry.

Pray for grace,

Beg forgiveness,

Repent till the end of time.

Lessons learned late.

Bonds burnt,

Is this my fate?

No one to my rescue.

I am dying,

Without help.
