Priceless Love

it was not the night we danced until dawn,

nor was it the day we spent getting lost in the city but it was when you crumbled into my arms in utter sorrow, that i realised how much i love you.

i held you close and promised to never let go i knew you never would too.

and when the roles were reversed,

when it was me who was crumbling,

you promised me the same and more

and played our song for me

you made me smile, my love

you always sing the words wrong.

i love the way your eyes crinkle

when you grin wide

and for that thing of beauty i would go to any lengths.

because

for me, it’s always you. it’s you i want to be buried next to.
