Poverty And Exploitation

All this started a hundred years ago

A penniless father for some rice and dough

Sold his daughter in the name of god

Whose body was out in temple for show

Day and night she spent dressing the statue

Smiling and dancing not having a clue

That pennies for father were to undress her

By the lusty devotees in the temple's queue

Interesting how money makes you dance

Fortune less girl begging for some finance

Starvation makes her mind think

Why not earn by selling romance

Each day she work in disgust and pain

Insults and bruises is all she gain

Reckoning the money earned,she thinks

For few grains, she has to suffer again

It's scary how people can trade sex

How poor women are treated as objects

How low the level of humanity can fall

Fir hunger of lust and a few cheques
