Platonic Love

What do I tell you now?

Everything I say, hurts you and angers you

My love for you is without expectations

It is selfless and spiritual

But love doesn't work that way

It’s a mix of expectations, selfishness and possessiveness

I never understood it for what it is

But I accept you for who you are...

My love will always remain the same

If not more than this

I am a little tired now

But giving up on you means

Giving up on everything i believed to be true

And I cannot afford to do that now or ever

So i will continue to love you from a distance

Selflessly, harmlessly and hormonally

I will wait for that day when you will finally realize

It for what it is, just don't then hesitate to

Come to me running,

For my arms are always wide open to hug you tight

And tell you how much you mean to me
