You live in pain.

A house built on grief,

Sorrow and tears.

A foundation of isolation

And a disdain for pity from

Your peers.

A mould of hurt growing

Within these walls and

Relentless cries chained

In the depths of what

You now call home.

You walk through life

With a heavy smile.

A shadow of despair following

You at every mile.

You tell us all you’re fine

But loss has an alarm

And he can awaken at any time.

There’s a ray of sunshine

In your eyes but

Anguish is your eclipse.

There’s a void you yearn but

Everything you’ve tried just deepens

The abyss.

I wish I could share

Your pain so we could

Avoid the continuous rupture

Of this rift.

I don’t know how you feel,

Nor can I time when you should heal

But I stand here with

A bouquet of love

And a note I want you to read.

I wish I could hold you but

The distance does not allow me.

Show me your pain and

Allow me to hold it in my hands.

This burden is too heavy,

Will you allow me to share the weight.

I yearn to hold and caress your head

But there’s a tall wall between us

And I cannot see your face.

I want to see you smile and

I want to see you now.

I know I’m looking from afar and

I wish to feel the void.

So please wrap your arms around yourself

And picture you in my arms.
