A king, he thought he was,

Full of goodness or flaws?

We're not all black or white but certainly shades of grey,

The shade though has a lot to say!

The darker ones with conspicuous streaks of one or more of the 7 sins,

Even their smiles look like smirks and grins..

The tints although light,

Sometimes their true flaw is just being more white,

They are easily fooled by the ones who lean towards the dark,

So is the difference between the two sides actually very stark?

Coming back to the very noble king,

He made everyone dance to the tunes that he wanted to sing...

Knowingly or unknowingly wrath, pride and greed dominated his behaviour,

Blinded by his vices he'd ill-treat everyone - despised or dear!

Surely he must have also had a good side, however small,

But his vicious side overshadowed it and left everyone appalled!

His gullible subjects though, still believed him and had faith in him no matter what,

Maybe their goodness or may I say foolishness was the reason why they were left distraught!

Now you might think I am a nincompoop for still asking - was he a good king or bad?

Because he evidently made his kingdom members extremely sad...

But was it him or them that gave him the power to that,

Instead of crying, should they have been stronger and shielded themselves from the venom he spat?

Or should he have had a little more emotions and integrity,

Learned to be moved by, amongst many - empathy, pain, care and pity

A chicken an egg story, the answer to which maybe we will never decipher,

Or maybe you will - depending on who you resonate and side with - the king or his disciples.
