Knock knock!! I am again here,

My name is periods to whom you fear,

I bring some gifts for you again my Dear,

You hate me most as I bring you tears. (1)

Your gifts inside my gift bag are some cramp and pain,

Umm!! Some mood swings and of course some stain,

Mood swings bound you to act like crazy and lazy,

You smile and cry at same time even you feel dizzy. (2)

You cry in pain that also hurts me immense,

Dear, it is all about a week just hold patience,

You feel happy on your fourth day,

And, I feel sad as I have to leave you within few days. (3)

Everyone says I am impure, that's a wrong concept,

The world exists because of me, no one is ready to accept,

I come when a girl hits puberty but they try to keep me hide,

But, when a guy hits puberty, his moustache becomes the sign of pride. (4)

I am red and red is the colour of sacrifice and courage,

Hey!! I come to you, yet I am painful, I know you can manage,

See I am pure blood even similar to that, flows in your body,

I am not a crime to keep me secret, not a curse to feel sorry. (5)

It’s 20th century and still you call my name in whisper,

You make me taboo or do not try to open me up either,

You people need awareness, then she can shamelessly say it's just a stain,

As I am natural you have to accept, then she will not need to feel ashamed. (6)
