Perils Of Kindness

They exploited your concern, took your magnanimity for granted,

Behaved as a bottomless glass,

And you kept pouring in your love.

You were empty and they still demanded a refill.

Where do you get this compassion from?

Who taught you to process others poison like you owe them?

What made you rip yourself in pieces to keep others whole?

How many times will you need them to crush you over to know that kindness

taints you like a flaw?

Help yourself baby.

Come out for yourself,

Know that you’re all that you’ve got.

I beg,

Be the love you never received.
