Perceptions

I stare at this blank page

I think why can’t I be like this blank page,

Clean, new, scar free.

Or am i exactly like this blank page,

Blank, wordless, empty

Which perception should I choose

The one that makes me feel better or the truth.

I loved him, in fact I still do somewhere deep down

Because he loved both perceptions of me

My empty, full, broken, bandaged self,

Parts of me that even I didn't like; he did

So how can i let go when he’s not his full self

Blank pages. It's very funny how I can write something about nothing.

Maybe that's my skill. To make something out of nothing,

Or to make a fool of myself over something that isn't there.

Which perception do I pick?

The one that makes me feel better or the truth..

Love. what even is it?

To pick the full version or to pick the empty one

Decisions. Can't do. But the decision to choose my words? I think I can do

I love him or is it that I can’t let go?

Which perception to choose?

The one that makes me feel worse or the one that’s bad for me?..
