Perceptions

The masterpiece of someone’s eye

Is merely trash to another;

In a world of a trillion spectators

Perceptions are bound to differ!

That which seems mundane to you,

Might be something unique to me.

We are different people who needn’t share

Identical ways to see.

We humans are peculiar perhaps,

For we are both unique and ordinary.

We see the same things and yet

Our perceptions may very well vary!

In circumstances grave,

Poles apart we stand.

And yet we are present there

All hand in hand.

Should we fear judgement

When we ourselves judge?

We don’t even spare the mirror and

From our opinions we don’t budge.

Should we continue to think that

We can be understood by none!

Or is it time to ponder upon the thought

That we might all be one?
