Peas in a Pod

We don’t know when they’re coming Or if they will choose us

We just keep waiting

Because we know that for us to die is a must When they finally come they take our homes to their homes

They peel and tear each of our houses And rip us apart from the place where we used to belong

They pick us individually and separate us from each other

And throw us into a box

And we wait

Wait to be burned

Wait to be destroyed

Wait to be killed

And wait to be eaten

And when we are, they’ll devour every last piece of us

And they won’t know

That we were alive

Just like them
