Peace A Mirage

From the land of frankincense

With a stench of rotting souls

I am here to sing my tale of woe

With a cheerless lip of mine

Mind full of rust and brain so numb

Past of mine was never easy

Fear and blood was normalcy

Place I called home is just a memory

Those smiling faces are just a faded story

When your world of McDs and pizzas gave you smile

A glimpse of gruel gave me solace

When you dreamt of cars and castles

Freedom and love was what I prayed for

When your cries were for teddies and barbies

I smiled for seeing my friend alive from yesterday

When uncle ben gave you toffees and candies

I was scanned for shells and bombs

When you slept under your heroes protection

I never slept, expecting an unclipped grenade

They do all this to embrace peace

Greater peace of black and green books

Hey God don’t make me an example

Don’t let priests sell you in this gamble

Mind full of rust and brain so numb

But through this ashes I will walk

Through these storms I shall pass

I will win this race called life

With scars and bruises with a smile
