Peace
By Mannat Kaushik
serenity,
i'd say, the calmness.
the touch, the every part of it,
the tranquilising effect of it.
my soul, when it's touched,
it runs towards it more.
it feels free and clutched,
the more it's hushed.
**
harmony,
oh! it's a symphony.
the striking chords,
play a tune.
my soul, when it's played,
every part of it hums.
the repose on the keys,
the nirvana melody…
**
solitude,
ah! the grace she carries.
the bliss she marries.
the wary of dangers, it's not her glory.
the grandeur in the way,
she comes in a haze.
she shalln't be wasted,
for solitude is ought to be tasted.
**
that past,
how clever of him.
he's gone with each second,
the forbidden, I reckon,
he's dead of a chorus, but alive of a hymn.
he's called upon each time,
the devils in our mind.
trained? by us, of course!
unnoticed otherwise, it definitely whines.
**
thoughts,
and they come and go.
the bustling traffic in my head,
ruckus of the neurons, now silent.
silence, i plead,
or maybe i don't.
it takes control of me,
leaves me shushed.
**
forgiveness,
it preaches.
breaches. me into a world.
unknown, i'm thrown, alone in there.
"forget!", making me free…
"oh! forget, thou and all!"
"detach your mind, uncouple your soul."
"mind staying here for a bit? let life catch you on the other shore."
