Past The Perilous Path

In the deepest forest I found myself lost

Blinding darkness hid the path I was on

Head hung low, barely standing up

I clenched my fists and wandered about

Raging storm, I was cold and drenched

Roaring thunder, maddening my head

Drowning in an ocean, struggling for breath

I knew I was in pieces, torn and shred

Just another night, walking past the ashes

The winds billowed, to a cliff I was headed

Stumbled upon a bridge, a rose blooming on it

A gem in a skull, a voice calling me loved

Walked over the bridge, left a life behind

Found living waters and a meadow by the side

Bright sunlight and flowers filled my days

Found a new name and amazing grace

Danced in the gorgeous green meadow

The painted blue sky and music so mellow

Heart's soaring like the birds above

My broken wings now all patched up

All was well, till one night it all fell

The scars started to show, tears followed

A suffocating chain around my brain

Monsters reminding me I am still the same

In the chaos, a whisper calling my name

Shimmering stars light up the place

They shower a united whisper, "Don't cry"

"There are miracles to see before you die”
