Partner
By Manoj Mathur
Whenever I look into my inner-self rolls
I find it lacerated with innumerable holes
Lacerated and twisted backbone under the
Ever increasing weight of dubious deals and deeds
Envy, duplicity, tyranny, hypocrisy spread like wild weeds
We all have sixteen teeth up, and an equal number down
Not to fight with each other, but to evenly cooperate
So are the equal roles of the twins… east-west, north-south
Tired of monotonous tyranny of living with the same partner
Angels of heaven must be feeling tired and frustrated
Dying to come to earth for a change
What one can see and learn in few seconds
Just by opening the closed eyelids
One cannot learn even for ages
With blindfold heavenly bids
Let me be, my Lord, a single blooming flower
In the wide desert fighting the heavy odds
Let me be an unknown twinkling little star, silent and shy
Amidst billions of stars in the sky
