Belts and bruises all over my skin.

Hugs and kisses were never enough.

A brat I was. Pretty fat I was.

Took too long to find out

How blessed I was.

Then I finally realized, I’m not the blessed

But the blessing that heavens tossed.

How I yearn for a blessing myself.

I’m creating life.

No, the credits would go to my wife.

I’ll probably ask for more blessings.

Hope she doesn’t mind.

Two would suit fine.

A boy and a girl.

And the girl is definitely mine.

Never holding a belt like my Oldman.

I know I can raise them well.

Not letting them go through the same hell.

Many dreams I have.

Of how to father my child.

It’s wild. I wondered as I smiled.

Parenting is an easy bend if only

They talk things through

Like a real friend.
