Papa (Grandpa)

Strong shoulders, soft hands

Kind smile to allure

His crown of hair adorned

Like a wreath galore.

His humour was simple

Yet unique and sharp

To decipher it's depth

You’ll turn a thousand old clocks.

With his humour of a ton

He cracked me often

"God made you perfect

But me upside down".

“But why so, my oldie?”

My question, in a loop

His quick wit and reply

Saw me in a coop.

“Your nose is so firm, mine so runny and moist

Your feet are so pretty, mine smelly and fragile

Isn’t the nose made to smell and feet for a run?

Now you see how God made

Your Pa, upside down?"

Many eons I took to fathom your humour, old pa

Each somersault to see you, my towering papa

My love anthem to you is this grandpa

You looked the best upside down

His plan: God knew it so well Papa.
