Palaces of Glass and the Ache of the Heart

​Bathed in the glow of electric lights,

Among the glittering display cases of glass,

Appear lovely treasures in her favorite shades...

​Among fine garments that would perfectly suit

Jaliya and Krishnajina,

And reflections everywhere that would grant

My own body a brand-new grace-

​Yet...

​When fingertips feel the burning emptiness

Deep inside a barren pocket,

The shadows of the glass palace shatter and fade.

​And that familiar sigh,

An inheritance carried from the past,

Once again-

Comes to rest inside my chest!
