Pain On A Rhythm

Let me put my pain on a rhythm

Just for you, and that

Will be my poem, all true

Let me add some flourish

Paint a picture that says more than a thousand whip lashes do

On my back is where

Time makes a mark like

A shadow at noon

Let verses fill chasms

Left by pain pangs

Like flowers in a dark valley bloom

In the midst of a gust

Let the rhythm stand apart

Like a small sprout taking root

If you feel concussed at my pain

And it tastes like metal and maim

Let my rhyme bring a sweet scent to you

Pain just makes more sense on a rhythm

Like the eye that makes a tornado symmetric

Or the sheen that gives blood a crimson hue
