Waiting for words to roll off the edge of your crooked soft lips,

I fall asleep.

You appear in my dreams uninvited.

Your small locks of hair try hard to stay in place.

Your twinkling eyes look directly at me

I’m tempted to touch you

But I can’t.

The next morning

I long to see you again...

Just to hear that raspy voice.

And see those curls fall loose over your face.

Then we meet.

The locks have disappeared.

Your lips are sealed.

Your eyes, cold.

Who were you?

Was it you in my dream?
