Out Of The Box

By Aarohi Srivastava

 — “The teacher asked her students to draw the sun, 44 yellow circles came in. One was blue. The blue one got laughed at— until sunset came and the sky itself agreed.”

The world was made for those who refused to color inside fixed shapes, but as time passed by, we humans started mistaking neatness for brilliance. Thinking differently isn’t an issue— it’s proof that progress was never born by perfect symmetry. Someone who’s perfect might be very talented or extremely good at things but at the end, the one who catches our eye is the person who might not be the best but simply unique— the one who doesn’t try to fit in.

How many times have you found yourself sitting quietly on a corner of your bed, staring at your ceiling and repeating the lines “someday I will be just like them” in your head, hoping that they will eventually evolve into your reality— of course you could be like others if you wish to and try to but what if I tell you that then, you would just end up becoming someone’s shadow, not who you truly are and that you would lose the version of yourself which makes you different. You might not be as good as others but magic happens when you build your own path rather than following someone else’s, when you think of something new rather than reframing someone else’s existing idea and when you don’t give up against all the odds, the universe always falls in love with a stubborn heart, one which aches with an urge to create something extraordinary and one which is brave enough to follow it’s own symphony. At times, all a person needs is a new perspective, dreams and self- belief to create something that speaks for itself for eons and eons to come, don’t be afraid of being different— be scared of being the same as everyone else because at the end, the ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones that actually do. Being discrete is the best way to discover the best version of yourself and unravel the hidden potential within you. The journey of trying to be different might not always be easy and you may make many mistakes as well but what if every idea that changed the world started as a mistake— maybe the problem isn’t that people don’t think but just that they are afraid of thinking wrong, mistakes and failures help us evolve into the best versions of ourselves, they are the silent artists and sculptors that shape our souls and make us unique.

We all have magic inside us, everything you can ever imagine is real, so dream until it’s your reality and for your peace of mind, do not try to understand everything because nothing makes sense until the day when it all does. The echo of an unfinished tune, a hand covered with strokes of paint, a mind rushing with endless ideas and the shiver before you do something no one else has attempted to do— that is scent of possibility, so think outside the box and simply be creative, curious and different until the day you create a legend.

— “We all have our own ‘different’ and all of us are unique in our own ways so keep thinking outside the box until it doesn’t exist.”
