Orion's Belt

The Orion's belt shines bright and free

As we trace it up in the bright night sky

I look at my friends, who are sitting by me

And think of the times that passed us by

The hostel days, the exam rote

The college, the mess, the crush on that girl

In this white coat, the stories we wrote

Children, watching the world unfurl

In a little while, these days shall end

And we'll all go our separate ways

To a separate world with a separate trend

Leaving a piece of our heart in this place

Someday, when we are old and grey

We'll return for the memories we left

Like shells on the beach on a sunny day

Pick up the pieces, not one bereft

On that day, we shall sit here again

Stare up at the bright glittering sky

The mighty hunter will, there, remain

Smiling at us with his twinkling eye
