One shadow, Two shadows

Behind closed doors,

I am real.

Behind closed doors,

I prepare to unmask.

Just like daytime,

You only see one

Version of me.

You only see one shadow.

Just like nighttime,

You get to see two

Versions of me.

You see two shadows.

I used to believe it would

All come to light,

But when it’s bright,

You only see my public shadow.

When it’s dark,

You see both shadows.

My fake happiness and

The hurt I am battling to hide.

If you could notice both

My shadows, you would

Know my real feelings.
