Once A Caterpillar

Fly! Fly! Fly!

Butterfly!

That’s how people cherish me.

They enjoy my flight anywhere anytime.

Children chase after me,

To catch me and play with me.

But once I am not this cheered.

Some see me disgusted,

Some do not even try to see,

Some try to put an end,

But no one dares to near or touch me.

Their POV, I am ugly, not up to their standard, not capable of appreciation…

How manipulative?

That’s my defense mechanism you fool.

Laughing silently at all your ignorance.

Because I know how my turnaround is going to be

All the hatred and all the toxicity are my lessons.

No one is a born butterfly,

The process does,

The effort does,

The time does,

The patience does.

Though who I am now, am once a caterpillar, and I won’t forget it.

Wait for your time, when it comes, you’re going to fly high like me.

The same people who MIStreated you gonna treat you MISS/Mrs/Mr.
