Oil And Water, Is Not Meant To Be
By Suman Behera
I see around myself,
The flower garden I try and walk through slowly dies.
I see around you,
Not only the flowers are bright and blooming
But otherworldly vibrant butterfly flies.
I see myself,
Standing under thunder and rainy skies as hazy and blurred as a hastily put on disguise.
I see you,
Standing under cherry blossoms and oh so pure moonlit skies.
I see myself,
In the mirror and it looks back at me with despise.
I see you,
Your striking elegance even takes back the mirror by surprise.
I see myself,
Nearing my demise.
I see you,
You are somewhere where I can never rise.
This is how my world looks through my eyes
Filled with unclear visions, hallucinations of skeletons and disappointments leading to deep sighs.
This is how your world should look like, I surmise-
Filled with lively gardens, red dyes and beautiful smiles.
But I wonder how all of it is, through your eyes.
