Oh man !

Oh my Lord, what have You made?

A man whose wants will never fade.

While alive, he wants the stars,

He wants to touch the sky, however far.

And when he is dead, he still has a demand,

A piece of ground, a piece of land,

Where he can burn, where he can lie,

Still asking for something before goodbye.

First he wanted a wheel,

Then a bicycle, fast and real.

Then came the bike, and then some more,

A motorbike with a mighty roar.

And now he dreams of cars that fly,

Still reaching for the endless sky.

He wants to conquer the world,

He wants to rule the sky,

He wants to fly like a bird,

Yet cages one nearby.

He wanted a home, so he cut down the trees,

Built walls and cement just as he pleased.

He killed the flowers, cemented the land,

Then asked for their fragrance, how strange is man.

He takes, he breaks, then wants it new,

And somehow still says, “I need more too.”

Man, oh man, what a curious race,

Always wanting what they cannot replace.
