Of The Tree And Its Leaves

Leaf by leaf the tree shed tears,
and slowly the autumn essence appears.
Pale it seems, with a rustle in the breeze;
faded its glory and faded its dreams.
The branches let go of the ones that were dear;
Each leaf on its own, its presence disappears.
The rain drips down the tree as tears;
a leaf, a dream, a memory appears.
Drop! A drop, the life grew in;
As those that shed, leave the little ones to dream.
Day after day, the tree grew strong;
for the soil under, treasured the leaves long gone.
The tree that nourished and the fruits that were borne,
Had all been seen but were the leaves still adorned.
Leaf by leaf, as they left the branch,
adorned in the hearts and the roots they are!
With the Blessings of the skies and the warmth of the earth;
Green be thy leaves as serene as a birth.
May the tree grow old with the strength of its girth;
And the roots grow deeper, pouring life into the dirt!
