Of All That Remains

Her picture burned and ebbed away,
Till Her smile smoldered,
Till her eyes were beads of fire,
It went up in flames, yet ashes remained.
A storm came and wrecked my life,
Unearthed the wisdom of my gracious trees ,
Enslaved the beauty of my sublime flowers,
A whirlwind of bedlam spun around me,
Youthful leaves were gone, silent weeds remained.
I have been gashed all over,
And tattered from within,
My skin speaks of bloodshed,
And my heart screams of ache,
My wails were gone, stubborn scars remained.
I have cried a lot,
Then and now
I cry and cry,
hard and low,
Every whimper being unique and distinct,
From soundless, to stifled, to muffled, to heartbreaking,
All tinctured with the same darn misery
My tears were gone, their wetness lingered and sting remained.
I craved for love and understanding,
My roses left charred and ablaze,
Frail threads were tested by time,
My expectations faded and decayed,
My home was gone, a house remained.
The girl in that photograph was my wife,
Unseasonably, her final destination came,
She left me on my own,
Her soul moved on, my emptiness remained.
Life is a story of struggles
Of endless questions and troubles,
When all is gone, there is nothing to lose,
In my garden of grief and ruin,
While stuck in past, i prayed for better tomorrows,
My present kept calling,
Until i finally chose to listen,
And let in the glorious light of day,
My worries, my fears are gone, hope remains.
In a journey of simple abundance, my life awaits!
