Oasis Of Hope
By Chandra Lekha
Curled myself up like a Snail in its shell.
Naked body in the middle of nowhere crying for help.
Drowned in my own tears that won’t dry.
My heart aches excessively, manifesting physical pain.
The void is repair and futile, as a flimsy cup that leaks.
Every night, I drain myself through tears to sleep; build scenarios in my head giving me ephemeral bliss.
Zone out recurringly for my heart loathes realism; feeding off of enthralling scenes to keep me hanging on.
Trying to find a hint of warmth in this gruesomely cold pain, I shutdown reality and indulge in music, similar to going into a trance.
Yearning for fuel to execute most basic things.
Every morning I drag myself away from the bed like a Prey trying to escape from its Predator
A nerve-racking dejection stings like a paper cut when I think of what’s ahead of me, nothingness.
Feeling like going into oblivion every second, consuming me bit by bit, better taken as a whole to get it over with as a one-time agony.
Well, life is no Croissant, but a blistering cup of Soup scorching the tongue that is luscious torture.
An Oasis of hope lives inside of me and tells me, someday you are going to have it all.
