To the streets of Constantinople, I say..

I will be back one day.

and I hope with all my heart that you remain unchanged, your magnificence retained.

From the dome of the Hagia Sophia to Pamukkale,

From the fallen walls of Hierapolis and Ephesus to the fascinating dance of Halay.

Seeing the sun shine bright in the Hipodrom through the densest of crowds, let all the hot air balloons in my heart right out.

From the Turkish coffee to the Turkish hospitality, all of it filled my stagnant existence with a plethora of glee. I long for the sweet December rain, with the chilly wind in my face, wandering around Taksim Square, with its endless rows of stores and cafés

oh Istanbul, you mark my words,

from your Çay to your Kahve, I will be back one day.
