Novel Beginnings

She placed the golden thimble upon the crest of her satchel,

Glaring into the swirls of mist in front of her,

One more step and she would find herself,

Upon the banks of where prussian blue stirred.

Tempted to look away among the glass shattering view,

But knowing in her soul that this was due,

A time came where humanity lost their control and mind,

This predicament forced her to leave everything behind.

All there was left was to inch closer,

Into a life unknown and unheard of,

Maybe there was no turning back, but she knew

This may be her last decision, she may rue

Wiping the tear off her eyelashes,

Forcing the edges of her lips to a smile,

This was it, this was her moment,

That she gained the courage and obliged.
